Operação de hoje da PRF foi traçada em reunião no Alvorada

There is an ongoing attempt by Jair Bolsonaro to stop Brazilians from voting. The federal police is (illegally) stopping voters on their way to the voting places in regions where Lula won in the first round.

Northeast region is the region that got Lula most votes and is also the one with the greater number of police intervention happening right now.

Apparently this coup was planned by Bolsonaro and their team on November 19th.

I’ll update as soon as we have more info

Edit: sorry that the article is in portuguese. There aren’t any in english yet bc it’s all happening right now and we don’t have much info. Feel free to use google translator though

Edit2: Despite the fascist shitshow, Lula just won the voting. But we all know Bolsonaro and his minion wont be defeated only in elections. We still have a lot of fighting to do. This is an important victory that might buy us time, but we must not have any illusions on what it means.

“jUsT v0tE hArDeR!!!”

Didnt Bolsenaro say precisely that he was certainly going to do this?

Yeah he gave a lot of signs

This is, what DeepL translates:

Today’s PRF operation was outlined in a meeting in Alvorada

PRF targets irregular transport and reinforces effective especially in the North and Northeast regions.

The action spearheaded today by the Federal Highway Police that takes place on Brazilian roads with actions to hinder the transportation of voters began to be articulated on the night of 19 October. On that Wednesday, the hard core of Jair Bolsonaro’s campaign met at the Alvorada Palace and outlined the fundamental actions that should be taken in the final stretch of the second round.

One of them was precisely the operation that is being undertaken since early this morning: the heads of the bodies that assist the Electoral Justice, such as the Armed Forces, Federal Police and Federal Highway Police, would be instructed that their commanders should be alert to irregular transportation of voters, especially in the Northeast.

Obviously, this was never a concern with the brand of impartiality.

The expectation of the Bolsonarist command has always been that only possible irregular movements of Lula voters would be barred, prevented or hindered.

Says a member of the campaign:

It wouldn’t even be necessary to give an explicit order for anything. As the staff of these police forces is basically composed of supporters of the president, the consequence of an operation like this is obvious.

Thanks for the translation!

Not at all. ;-)

I don’t see any news on this in The West. What’s happening?

Basically earlier this day the Federal police was arresting and stopping people from voting in areas where Lula won against Bolsonaro.

Apparently, Bolsonaro has got the military and police attempting to prevent people from voting for Lula and thus voting Bolsonaro out. If he fails and gets voted out, he’ll almost certainly just try to use the military and police to stay in power anyway.

When is the result final? The news on the election was covered at first but I can’t seem to find it anymore. Weird.

Edit: it just says: small lead for Bolsonaro

Lula passed him and probably will win

Wooohhooo! Fingers crossed.

Anyone have a link to bypass the paywall for that article?

I’m not getting a paywall, but if you want an English version without fake news alerts, I’m hosting a PDF on my minio instance: https://api.minio.arsenm.dev/adl/PRF-Jardim-Globo.pdf

nice! Thanks dude!

Thanks comrade.

Zero surprise.

liberals will have the nerve to tell you to just vote these people away btw

This. Communists in this country have been saying shit like these would append for years but institutional left just wont listen

Yeah, and this is what happens when people try to vote them out and actually have the potential to do so. Libs can’t seem to understand that if one side is using force while the other is not, the one that is not loses automatically due to being essentially powerless.

Liberals tell you violence isn’t the answer as the Right proves that violence is the thing keeping them in power time and time again

Well, I tried to translate it

Both Google and Yandex are behaving like this, but not the untranslated site. I’m referring to the “Fake News Alert” all over the site.

If someone wants a proper English article without fake news alerts everywhere, I’ve captured a PDF using reader mode and am hosting it on my minio instance: https://api.minio.arsenm.dev/adl/PRF-Jardim-Globo.pdf

Fucking fascists.
