I can clap with one hand. I learned it when playing piano; I had to keep my fingers loose and relaxed and at some point I discovered that if I keep the muscles in my fingers relaxed, I can make them clap by waving my arm around.

I learnt Gregg’s shorthand, because it’s beautiful.

Nice. I use Teeline, but I’ve always wanted to learn a phonetic shorthand system.

I practice a relatively obscure Japanese martial art. A friend of mine happened to practice it and suggested I come and try it out. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niten_Ichi-ryū

One of my friends practices a similar thing called Kashima Shinryu! Yours seems super cool, it looks like it’s descended from Miyamoto Musashi haha

Yeah, apparently it’s a direct lineage. It’s fascinating to think that this art’s been passed down over so many generations.

Is playing a baritone horn rare? I don’t play very well, but I can play

I play baritone too! I’m actually in the process of auditioning for all state with Euphonium right now.

I don’t remember most of the terminology haha because i learned like 4-5 years ago. But I do CFOP, which I believe includes F2L but uses a different method for the third layer. I learned 4-step orientation and permutation when I started CFOP, then started learning 2-step/advanced, but stopped short of 4-5 cases. I also use a few algorithms from the basic method, for orientation, so I do this weird hybrid thing lol. I don’t think I can ever get back to learning full, advanced CFOP because it’s just muscle memory now and I don’t remember any algorithms by heart. I’m starting to lose that muscle memory now too, even though I pretty much always have a cube in my hand to play with. if I ever get a summer off or something I’d love to practice a bit and maybe attend a tournament. have you ever been to one?

Noo I wish I went to a tournament though! Even if you can do sub60 you can compete in most. I’ve done tournaments for other activities though, I highly recommend you give it a shot

I’m in my 40’s and have very flexible hips. I just kept them limber.

With a 99% probability, I can determine a person’s age, sometimes without even seeing his face directly.

How old I am?

32! 👍

I can touch my tonsils and the septum in my nose with my tongue. I guess I was just born a mutant

I can’t think of any truly rare skill, but my semi-rare skills are:

  • I can identify many species of wild animals and plants (reading lots of field guides and taxonomy books)
  • I have research skills related to optics, chemistry, biochemistry, etc. (from academic studies up to PhD)
  • I can play my hands like a flute (lots of practice, to the detriment of those around me)
  • Clone and grow mushrooms (YouTube videos and online forums)
  • Put my legs behind my head (No idea. I am not very flexible but this specific thing I can just do)
  • I am currently working to develop my electronics skills by reading, watching videos, and building projects at home.

I can imagine you with your leg behind your head while playing your hands like a flute, only pausing to chew some mushrooms :)
