The Director said “We should know when users leave their house, their commute to work, and everywhere they go throughout the day. Anything less is useless. We get a lot more than that from other tech companies.

Let us take a short guess what other tech companies that might be…

FB/insta/whatsapp, Reddit, google, snapchat… who else ?

I would add to that list Amazon, Microsoft and Apple.

I don’t know if this mindset will hold true with the new owner of Twitter though. I would assume Elon will do far worse things with the data.

I don’t know much about Elon Musk. But he strikes me as someone who would want to extract as much value as possible from data, and not as someone who thinks user privacy is something important to protect. Is this a topic that he has publicly spoken about?

He lies too much to believe anything he says. You can only trust his actions. Right now Tesla doesn’t sell users data, but he’s trying to make twitter profitable so who knows what he’ll do.
