Recently I saw that quite a few accounts became inactive as they are not posting in any subs for days/weeks, like Comrade Rose disappeared suddenly, including Ratto and Aru, what happened to them?
Then I also remembered Grace, Environmental Data(if I’m not mistaken) and Stalin’s spoon from reddit, they and others disappeared for a while.
Speaking as someone who’s been on several prominent communist subreddits and discords, I’m honestly sick to death of seeing the same moderator names resurface intertwined with drama. And as soon as that drama kicks off, the entire community fractures like a bunch of Trotskyists trying to define permanent revolution.
i kept telling this since forever. you can look at my past comment history. when r/Genzedong was quarantined, the whole drama started and the people who started tg group, made Grace mod and they started banning us for no reason. Then we got https://lemmygrad.ml/c/dongistan drama right after
Now that you mention, I remember her saying a few things against men, that she hates men and some stuff, do you have anything more, and when tf did she harassed someone?
Maybe they didn’t because they think they might come back someday? Or they prefer to just not interact with the 'Grad as much these days and just lurk around.
In my case was the frustration about how sometimes even 'Grad feels like an echo chamber and how incredibly frustrating it is that I can only use my phone here, and when I do some wall text explaining something in detail while someone thinks they made some sort of sensible answer being just not coping with cognitive dissonance about how they are reactionary, idealist and anti-dialectical, a lot of times the messages don’t go through, and they are basically deleted. Probably this one too will be deleted, and I will have to copy it all, reload the page, paste it, and try again until correctly uploaded.
I don’t think I am the only one experiencing this sort of problem lol.
And also, sometimes people need distance and contemplating beyond being in social media.
Yeah, me too. But sometimes I forget how even after doing it, it may even has the same error again, and even after allegedly showing the reply being posted.
People got lives and take breaks is what I imagine. Also some feel the need to periodically delete accounts and wipe data for anonymity purposes. I know that’s a big thing over in hexbear. Also I’m sure it just gets tiring posting content all the time and not getting much interaction.
As far as posts are concerned I don’t mind if posting is “slow” sometimes and I hope the mods/admins don’t feel a lot of pressure to be the ones pumping all the content. Not all of us are on here all the time some posts sticking around give more people time to see them and also comment. I will check the same post several times over a few days to see new comments and reactions to old one. That in itself keeps things interesting for me.
If I had to guess, I’d say because their content usually had a lukewarm reception. Yelling into the void is for twitter and masto. For long-form discussions it’s really draining to put a lot of work into something for no one to read it or care much. I’d imagine some of them also just had stuff going on irl, which happens often enough but is more noticeable in smaller communities.

Im part of the trans commies discord (though on hiatus from discord right now lol) and as far as I heard about them they did things along the lines of
